Installing an update for your Barcode Tagger is easy.
Just choose the FTP option on your tagger update menu screen. Diskettes are not necessary with the FTP Update Service. Diskettes will, of course, continue to be available.
NOTE: This feature is NOT available on the BT 610 machine.
Before you can do an FTP update, you will need to enable and create the network connectivity on your Tagger. The following is a one time procedure done prior to the first time you do an FTP update. These settings will remain in place for all subsequent FTP updates or until you re-set them. You may print out a detailed FTP Information Form here and keep it as a record of your settings.
On the BT 700 machine:
A) From the On Demand Utilties screen choose the System Functions menu.
B) Choose Network Settings
- Enable the Network Connection
- Enter the tagger Static IP address (ask your IT department about this setting)
- Enter the Gateway IP address (ask your IT department about this setting)
- Apply the settings and reboot.
C) Once you have your Tagger networked, you will simply follow the menu instructions to download your update.
- Select the 'Update System' option.
- Select the 'Update by FTP' option. Your tagger will then automatically connect to our FTP server and list the update file(s).
- Select this file, i.e. '1) 0703-001.710' This file will automatically download and install to your tagger.
On the BT 710/720/730/800 series machines
